Fix IDM “Permission Denied” & Firewall Error (2026)

Internet Download Manager (IDM) is the fastest downloader for PC, but the "Permission Denied" error can stop your downloads mid-way. Usually, this isn't a problem with your files, but a communication block between IDM and your Windows Firewall.

Error Message: "Permission denied. Please check your firewall settings and ensure that IDM has access to the internet."

✅ Method 1: The "Refresh Address" Fix

Most errors happen because the temporary download link has expired. Instead of restarting the whole file, do this:

Step 1: Right-click the failed download in IDM.

Step 2: Select "Refresh Download Address".

Step 3: IDM will open your browser. Wait for the download to trigger again.
